Back in the day, McCulty was the Vivien Leigh fan club president and archivist. Being the fan club president had its perks, as he was closely connected to her friends (movie stars, photographers) and family. McCulty's collection is extensive and supported in provenance by his frequent letters of correspondence with those in Vivien's inner circle It should be noted that McCulty was particularly fond of rare photographs. This photo of Leigh and co-starfrom McCulty's collection measures 6-1/2 x 9-3/4. The photograph was taken by Ernst Haas and has the Magnum Photos stamping on the reverse. Haas was an elite photographer withfeature picturesin magazines like Vogue and Life. He also was the first single-artist exhibit of color photography at New York City's Museum of Modern Art.
