Julia Lund played by Laura Regan,a graduate in psychology witnesses a horrifying and shocking event and slowly gets the feeling that the scary things that she came across in her childhood could be real. Julia’s childhood friend Billy Parks is obsessed with demons approaching him and commits suicide before the eyes of Julia. When she attends the funeral along with Sam Burnside and Terry Alba, both being friends of Billy, her childhood nightmares begins once again. When Sam describes about their childhood events and the demons approaching in the dark, Julia develops fear of being in the dark. She seeks the help of Paul Loomis, her boyfriend played by Marc Blucas. The movie will scare people those who watch at home alone. Laura Regan had performed competitively and creates sympathy among audience with her creepy expressions.“They” refers to the monsters that are shown as shadows and hidden in darkness and the noises they make are quite thrilling. Though there are few funny reviews that the monsters are made of computer graphics and mere cut and paste jobs and the leading character looks underweight and that is the only thing scary in the film.

 

 

According to sources the film had won the CSC (Canadian Society of Cinematographers Awards) Award for the best cinematography by Rene Ohashi. The movie was also nominated for the International Fantasy Film Award.
