The story revolves around two ladies who play the major roles. Thelma is played by Geena Davis. Thelma is carefree house wife who has a controlling husband. She is the cheerful spirited kind of woman while Louise is a waitress, who has everything under control, is stern and systematic. The ladies are friends and decide to undertake a two day trip for enjoyment and decide to go for fishing in the mountain areas. When they stop at a bar Thelma meets a man named Harlan who tries to have sex with her with force. Thelma is drunk and not in her senses. When Louise discovers what Harlan is doing she threatens to kill him and has a gun too. In a rush of anger she kills Harlan and then realizes she has committed murder and wants to run as she doesn’t want the police to get her.
