The movie was produced by George Pal and was directed by Byron Haskin. John Gay did the screenplay with lot of changes in the location as well as the names of the characters. The character Professor Jim Tanner was played by George Hamilton, one of his team members and his love interest was Margery Lansing played by Suzanne Pleshette. Michael Rennie who became famous for the science fiction character name Klaatu in the Day the Earth Stood Still had adorned the role of new government contact Mr. Nordlund. The story is almost like the novel except few alterations at the end of the movie. George Hamilton got lots of fame by this role. It is an ambiguous movie and has many fascinating scenes like murder by centrifuge, the Walk and Don’t Walk signs, the shooting toy soldiers and winking lifeless elements and more. The movie runs for 108 minutes.
