George Lucas

George Lucas is a multi-awarded producer, movie director, screenplay writer and the chairman of his own Lucas Film. George is the man behind the creation of Star Wars saga as well as the famous character of Indiana Jones. He is one of the richest independent director/producer in the American movie industry with a $3.6 billion estimated net worth of assets.

George Lucas was born on May 14, 1944, as George Walton Lucas Jr., in Modesto California. His parents are Dorothy Ellinore, a German-Scottish-Irish origin, and George Walton Lucas Sr. His dad was of British-Swiss-German origin and had his own stationary store. Apart from their store, the family likewise had a walnut ranch. George had wanted to be in car racing until he had encountered a nearly dangerous accident that made his mind changed. He joined into the community college and indulged into cinematography and cameras. Since then, he had ventured anything about films, cinema and photography. In 1967, he finished Bachelor of Fine Arts. He attempted to join the United States Air Force but was denied because of his many speeding tickets. He was subsequently drafted by the Army but was found out to be mildly diabetic but still have to undergo some medication. Within the same year, he enrolled at the graduate school in USC for film production. At the same time, he worked as an instructor for some U.S. Navy students specifically teaching them documentary cinematography. He directed the film Electronic Labyrinth: THX 11384EB that grabbed first place during the 1967-1968 National Student Film Festival. The said movie was eventually embedded in George’s debut in full-length film THX 1138. Warner Brothers later gave him a scholarship to observe the production of the Finian’s Rainbow in 1968 which was under the direction of Francis Ford Coppola who was famous and idolized by film students.
