The setup of the film is effective and feels like a continuation of the previous Spiderman stories. As the film started, it was in the peak of success for Peter Parker as Spiderman, while Mary Jane Watson is making a mark in her Broadway career. The only downside is that his former best friend Harry Osborn still seeks vengeance for his father's death. But Harry isn’t the only bad guy Peter will have to face. Flint Marko, an escaped convict who killed Uncle Ben and fled into forbidden testing zone where radiation turns him into sand-manipulator. And a parasitic creature from outer space called Venom that bonds with Peter, influencing his behavior for the worse. Venom eventually makes its way into the body of Eddie Brock, a photographer who has animosity against Peter.

 

Spiderman 3 won the NRJ Ciné Award in Paris, France for Best Action Film. It also got numbers of nomination from different award-giving body like Saturn Award Best Director for Sam Raimi, Annie Award Best Animated Effects for Ryan Laney and the MTV Movie Award Best Villain for Topher Grace. Although the film received mixed reviews from critics, different from the previous two films which got positive reviews, still it stands as the most successful film in the series worldwide.
