Walt Disney’s Song of the South was a feature film produced in 1946 based on the fictional narrator of African American folktales, Uncle Remus. The plot revolves around 7-year old Johnny who's parents had separated and he needed to stay in his grandmother’s plantation. Johnny met Uncle Remus who narrated stories about Br’er Rabbit and his Laughing Place, Br'er Fox, Br'er Bea and Tar Baby who helped the boy deal with his new life at the plantation. Also introduced on the film is the hit song Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah who won the Academy Award for Best Song in 1947 and was further used by Disney on their other musical theme productions. The film was a big success to Disney grossing $3.3 million at the box office.

 

Fast forward in 2009, Walt Disney distributed the Hannah Montana: The Movie which is a musical film adaptation of the Hannah Montana teen sitcom. The movie had reached the top spot in box office upon its release in April 10, 2009 and grossed $155,545,279 worldwide. Miley Stewart, the lead character of the story pretended to be Hannah Montana and began living a life with two different personalities. She realized that Hannah Montana is now taking her life as Miley. Eventually, she revealed her secret to the public but her fans supported her to continue being Hannah Montana. Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana was played by actress Miley Cyrus who won as Favorite Movie Actress by Kids' Choice Awards and Favorite Breakout Movie Actress by People’s Choice Awards.
