About Scooby-Doo Memorabilia & Collectibles

Initially released in 2002, Scooby Doo is a movie based on the Hanna-Barbera cartoon series of the same title. It starred Scooby Doo who was created on-screen using CGI (computer -generated imagery) and voiced by Neil Fanning. It also featured Matthew Lillard as Scooby’s perennial madcap partner, Shaggy. Sarah Michelle Gellar portrays Daphne, Freddie Prinze Jr. is cast as Fred with Linda Cardellini as Velma. The movie starts two years after the bitter break-up of the group Mystery Inc. The gang has since pursued different directions in life, with only Shaggy and Scooby remaining the same. They are invited to an island theme park, called Spooky Island to investigate strange happenings in which visitors appear to be affected by a mysterious spell. While still refusing to work together, the crew investigates around the island. A series of incidents lead to the discovery of the real culprit in Scrappy Doo, who was taking a revenge on the gang for kicking him put of Mystery Inc. In the end, group puts the whole island back into order and settles their differences.

In 2004, a sequel was released entitled Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed. Its main cast remained the same with the addition of some actors who play the villains. Alicia Silverstone plays the reporter Heather Jasper-Howe who is out to make the gang look like a bunch of fools. Seth Green portrays the Museum curator to whom Velma gets attracted to. The group’s problems start with the costumes from the Coolsville Museum of Criminology being stolen and coming to life. The movie goes through a roller-coater ride of action scenes involving different monsters and ends with them unmasking the real villain, Dr. Jonathan Jacobo, in the guise of the reporter Heather Jasper-Howe.

According to reviews, the 2009 prequel was released in time with the 40th anniversary of Scooby Doo. It was a television movie with a complete set of new characters. It details the story of how the teenage gang and Scooby met in Coolsville High School and how they solved their very first mystery.
