According to reviews, Pleasantville is the first movie that was made digitally. The movie was entirely pictured in color and then a part of it was desiderated digitally to give a mixed feeling.The job was done by Cinesite using Spirit DataCine for scanning at 2K resolutionsin Los Angeles. This movie was J.T. Walsh’s last movie to be released before his death.

 

The movie was rated 81% according to Rotten Tomatoes. According to sources the film won the Saturn Awards for best actor and supporting actress, Boston Society of Film Critics Award for best supporting actor and actress and Academy Awards for Best Direction, Set Decoration, Costume Design and Best Music and original dramatic score by Randy Newman all in the year 1998.
