The movie Memories is written by Satoshi Kon and Katsuhiro Otomo. It is a 1995 made anime film. It was also directed by Katsuhiro Otomo, Kōji Morimoto, Tensai Okamura.. Three episodes, Magnetic Rose, Stink Bomb, and Cannon Fodder are combined to make this film.

 

The three episodes portray an amalgamation of three stories with very different storyline. The three episodes portray an amalgamation of three stories with very different storyline. In the first part or first episode which is Magnetic rose, three space travelers discovered a deserted spaceship. The spaceship has a very unique environment which opens itself to a different world, a world of memories created from a woman’s memories. The Film is based on Otomo’s three short stories of Manga. The woman was a successful Opera singer but her beautiful perfect world comes to a crash when her fiancée is murdered. She is so devastated that she creates the memories and preserves them in a computer based system and practically lives with her memories. In the second episode, the Stink Bomb is action packed when by accident a young lab assistant changes himself to a human biological weapon which has set its course directly on Tokyo. The final part named Cannon Fodder focuses on just a day the entire time. It depicts the conditions of the people in a city where they have to fire cannons at an unseen enemy.

The film shows the skill of Japanese film industry and credits its work on this anime. The Film was in Japanese but has been translated to others languages too. It was released on December 23, 1995.  It was distributed by Toho in Japan and Summit Entertainment in USA.
