Jack o' the Green (Tom Cruise) is a forest dweller and has the knowledge about where to find the unicorns and leads Princess Lily to show them. Jack is in love with lily and renders weak to her requests. The goblins send by the Lord of darkness attack the unicorns when lily and jack are seeing them, but they are caught unaware and don’t notice the sudden swift attack. The story unfolds to reveal how the Lord of darkness is defeated and the quest undertaken by jack and his friends to rescue the unicorns and the princess. Alice Playten got lots of fame after this movie.

 

It was produced by Tim Hampton and Arnon Milchan and directed by Ridley Scott. The cinematography is done by Alex Thomson while the script was written by William Hjortsberg. The music has been provided by Jerry Goldsmith and Tangerine Dream.  The editing has been done by Terry Rawlings. The film was released in the country of United Kingdom and United States on December 13, 1985(United Kingdom) and April 18, 1986 (United States). It had a budget of $30 million. The film was distributed by 20th Century Fox and Universal Pictures.
