Caractacus Potts played by Van Dyke is an eccentric man who works as an inventor somewhere in England. Leaving along with his father and two adolescent children namely Jemima and Jeremy, this job can barely support them. Being a huge fan of cars, his boys ask him one day to buy them an old racing motorcar. In order not to disappoint them, Caractacus does everything he can to gain enough money to afford it. First, he sold his invented candies to a chief confection manufacturer, named Lord Scrumptious and second, he went to a fair and performed sing and dance to earn tips from customers. After having the car, Caractacus decided to rebuild the car and named it Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, primarily because of the sound it makes. Eventually, it was then revealed that the car comes with numerous amazing qualities or magical powers. It can fly, float into the water and drive by itself.

 

Great to be watched by all ages, this film gained favorable reviews for its funny, beautiful and touching story line. The great list of songs used in the entire film also achieved great responses from movie fanatics.
