About 20th Century Memorabilia & Collectibles
Twentieth Century is a comedy film in America which was released in 1934, wherein most scenes of the film is set on the “20th Century Limited”. It was a train that travels back and forth in Chicago down to New York. It was directed as well by Howard Hawks and starred Carole Lombard and John Barrymore. It features Roscoe Karns, Walter Connolly and Edgar Kennedy. Charles MacArthur and Ben Hecht adapted the Broadway play of 20th Century- with unaccredited contribution from Preston Sturges and Gene Fowler.
20th Century is basically considered as a prototype of the screwball comedy. It’s the rapid romantic-comedy of Howard Hawks that’s the main ingredient of the screwball- a charming, dizzy dame and dash of slapstick. The film was then added to the Library Congress of the National Film Registry in 2011.
