Tony Curtis Dies at 85

Actor Tony Curtis died of cardiac arrest at his home in Henderson, Nevada on September 29. Known as a Hollywood heartthrob in the 1950s, Curtis became a well-respected actor with roles in classics such as “Sweet Smell of Success” and “The Defiant Ones,” for which he was nominated for an Oscar for best actor. He also starred in the television show “The Persuaders” and later reinvented himself as a writer and painter. Shirley Jones and her husband Marty Ingels attended the 4th annual Paws for Cures fundraiser event in Anaheim Hills. Paws for Cures raises money for the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Foundation. Guests placed bids on various items such as memorabilia that included a Bruce Springsteen autographed guitar and a framed and autographed Lakers jersey. Each episode, Joe will travel around the world searching for rare Hollywood memorabilia and auctioning them off. The show will also feature various Hollywood stars.
