Starting June 18 Legendary actress Debbie Reynolds will be having her collection of Hollywood memorabilia put on display and auction at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills. The actress has spent over 50 years amassing this collection which includes some of cinema’s most cherished items. Some items be sold of note include the ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz and costumes from classic films Ben-Hur and Singin in the Rain. Reynolds said she started collecting when she heard studio MGM was selling various costumes and props. There are over 3,000 costumes in the collection alone.

Collection Of TV Legend Larry Hagman To Be Auctioned

On Saturday June 11th, Julien’s Auctions will put up for sale actor Larry Hagman’s collection of over 400 memorabilia items. Hagman is best known for his roles on TV shows “Dallas” and ”I Dream of Jeannie”. Some of the items to be sold include clothing, scripts and other memorabilia from Dallas. Also for sale are items ranging from an Edward Bohlin saddle to various works of art and furniture and monogrammed western items like guns and hats. There will be a public exhibition of the collection starting this week lasting until the sale this Saturday. Stallone’s lawyer recently filed a cease and desist order against bosses at Profiles in History for selling the fraudulent memorabilia. Kevin Smith Holds Hollywood Auction

On April 10, writer/director Kevin Smith held an auction called “Kevin Smith Sells Out: The Official Askewniverse Garage Sale” in Pasadena, California. The auction served to help finance Smith’s next independent horror film, Red State. Among a vast collection of props, set pieces, costumes and art, there was a set of angel wings worn by Ben Affleck in Dogma and the Bluntman costume from Jay and Silent Bob. Fans of John Lennon memorabilia may be interested to hear that Little, Brown will publish a compilation of John Lennon’s letters in October 2012. Lennon’s widow, Yoko Ono gave permission for some of his letters to be published in “The Lennon Letters”. Editing and writing the introduction is Hunter Davies, the official Beatles biographer who had a hand in tracking down correspondence from Lennon. In recent years, John Lennon’s letters have proven to be valuable at auctions. In 2003, a letter to an art critic sent in 1971 sold for more than $38,000.
