Rolling Stones: The Ninth Wonder of the World

Monday, December 21st, 2009

If you have never been to a live concert of the Rolling Stones you are missing one of the most amazing performances known to rock music.

First of all, the band seems to be perfectionists at getting the sound and lighting at the highest level possible. They push the envelope in terms of special effects as well, with multi layered fog and color changing enhancement of the backdrops as well.

When I saw them last year at the Oakland Coliseum, it was an amazing thing to see Mick Jagger prancing around the stage, doing all sorts of acrobatics for an hour and a half!!

He certainly must have a rigorous exercise routine to be able to do that at his age. It is nothing short of remarkable and another remarkable thing is simply the fact that they can come out and do 30 concerts or more worldwide.

Throughout the years they have amassed a great amount of memorabilia, some of which is for sale at this site.

There are affordable Rolling Stones Memorabilia for someone starting out as a collector to high ticket items as well.

Next time, if there is one, don’t let them come to your town without experiencing the Rolling Stones Concert experience.

Would love to hear your experience, which can be posted here.

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

While Dave Grohl signed guitars might not be in every music memorabilia collectors’ hobby room, odds are a couple of their CDs are in the house, somewhere. The Foo Fighters, the 15-year project of Grohl’s is set to release a 16-track greatest hits record before taking a hiatus starting in 2010. With six Grammy awards and over 20 million records sold worldwide, Grohl recently stated the “world needs a break” from the band and the members will be ready to take on a new challenge when they do choose to reconvene.

Mayer Tracking Fourth Full Length

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

It’s always interesting to watch a musician while in the creative process. Through the beauty of blogging and Twitter, it’s possible to follow Grammy award-winning John Mayer compose his fourth full-length studio album. While autographed music photos are always a hot commodity, music memorabilia collectors should take advantage of this modern luxury, especially given the success of Mayer’s last studio record “Continuum“. While we have have to see if John wants to put out a series of new autographed guitar displays, let’s all hope there’s some new music collectibles to commemorate one of the prominent songwriters of this generation.

Alicia Keys

Friday, July 11th, 2008

Alicia Keys is one of my most favorite singers. She has a quality to her voice that is outstanding. It wasn’t until I saw an episode of “Iconoclasts” that I really developed a great appreciation for the personal side of her life. She and Ruby Dee were paired together and the love, respect and appreciation for each other’s creative talent exuded on the screen. Alicia and Ruby walk together through Harlem and we see pictures of Ruby Dee in the beginning of her career, on stage at a repertoire theater. She is about sixteen years old. Then we enter a theater that was built by Alicia Keys which was used for up and coming performers. It was inspiring to hear how Alicia with her humble beginnings was able to focus on her career and make it all the way to the top.

50 Cent New Signed Items

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

50 cent has done an exclusive signing with a big collectible company. I have seen some of the new items and they are album covers and collages that stand out dramatically.
50 cent’s new song “can’t leave ‘em alone” with Sierra is really cool. Even though Kanye West newest album sold more records than 50 cent, I still like 50 cent better.
The new 50 cent items have one album cover unsigned and the other album signed. There are also unsigned 50 cent memorabilia and signed 50 cent memorabilia plus signed collages.

50 Cent is the equivalent to a Heavy Weight Champion selling over 21 million records worldwide and establishing himself as one of the biggest names in the hip-hop industry. 50 Cent has also solidified his name as an entertainment entrepreneur by launching his own record label clothing & Sneaker line video game and authoring books and screenplays related to his life. If that isn’t enough he is slated to appear in 5 upcoming films one in which he will star opposite Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino. 50 Cent is more than just a rapper he is apart of our main stream society and culture.
