Yuri is personally known as Yurida Valenzuela Canseco, who was born on January 6, 1964 in Veracruz, Mexico. She studied ballet during her childhood and when she reached the age of nice, she got a scholarship for the opportunity of entering the popular ballet school, Bolshoi. However, her parents declined about the opportunity because she was still young and want her to finish her study. Another opportunity opened to her when the band played at their place, she invited to sing with them. This was the time when she started her singing career. A popular producer from the Studio Gamma, Julio Jaramilio was discovered her talent and offered a record deal. Yuri was presented in Festival OTI in Mexico and she received a lot of applause because of her outstanding singing performance in which she sang the "Siempre Hay un Mañana". After the success, she convinced by her producer, Julio Jaramillo to create a song and record an album entitled "Yuri". This success was followed by another album entitled “Llena de Dulzura” in 1982. This album got different good complement from her avid fans.
