When Cugat decided to take music seriously, he recorded with Columbia Records which was known as Columbia’s Epic during the 1940s and 1950s. In 1930s as well as 1950s, he recorded for RCA Victor. He has also done recording with Decca Records and Mercury Records. Dinah Shore, a member of Victor records, made his first recordings. In the year of 1940, his recording entitled Perfidia became successful. This big hit was also followed by another record of him. But, only few became a huge trend.
