An American activist, country singer-song writer, author, poet and actor, Willie Hugh Nelson was born on April 30, 1933 and grew up in Abott, Texas, United States. He is the son of Ira Doyle Nelson and Myrle Marie.
During his younger years, he already showed interest in music. He worked as a disc jockey or DJ on a radio station while he was in high school. In 1960, he entered the music industry. He partnered with Pamper Music then after that, with Ray Price where he became the bass player of the band. He worked with the biggest pop music stars of his generation including Billy Walker in Funny How Time Slips Away, Faron Young in Hello Walls and Patsy Cline in Crazy. In 1965, Nelson moved to another recording company, the RCA Victor Records joining the Grand Ole Opry.
Nelson remained iconic producing several music records with different artists. He touched the American culture which he loved the most. He also began acting in 1979 where he appeared in the movie The Electric Horseman, Thief and Barbosa. He starred in the movie Songwriter along with Kris Kristofferson. It was followed by several movie appearances. Nelson continued to his acting career where he made numerous guest appearances on television. He also worked with Kevin Costner in the movie Swing Vote. As his career progressed, he worked with several song artists like Snoop Dogg and other movie icons.
