Career wise, Stallone started his first film starring way back in 1970s. He wrote the script of the smash hit Rocky after he watched the fight between Muhammed Ali and Chuck Wepner. After which he sold the script and made it to film. This is the first starring role of Stallone that gained him nomination for Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay in Academy Awards. On the other hand, he also co-starred Christopher Reeve in the film Cobra.

From then, he co-starred Antonio Banderas and Julianne Moore in Assasins. This film was a major hit that earned almost $159,212,469 all over the world. After which, sequels of Rocky was created but Sylvester decided to take a rest in the showbiz industry. However, he made television appearances in Las Vegas. He also inducted the wrestling icon Hulk Hogan in 2005.

After a few years of hiatus from films, Stallone is currently working the film The Expendables, which will be shown in August 2010. It would be a sure blockbuster film as fellow action superstars will be joining him such as Jet Li and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
