About Robert Sterling Autographed Memorabilia & Collectibles
Robert Sterling was born on the 13th of November 1917 and only recently died in May 30, 2006. He was eighty-eight years old and his demise was ruled as death by natural causes. He was married two times during his lifetime, the first of which was also to showbiz star Ann Sothern, with their daughter Patricia later working in the same industry her parents inhabited. Sothern and Sterling were only married four six years before they had a divorce. In 1951, he met Anne Jeffreys and they had been married since then and until his death.
Although Sterling started out with Columbia Pictures, he only became active when he went to MGM Pictures. He had several supporting roles while with MGM but after his stint as flight instructor for the Air Force during WWII, his fame had already faded when he went back to Hollywood. He did, however, have one major hit in the film adaptation of Show Boat, released in 1951 and which also featured screen goddess Ava Gardner
His most famous work was Topper, a TV show that starred both him and his wife Anne. In the latter years of his career, Sterling would only make occasional appearances in select shows, including the likes of Murder, She Wrote, which starred veteran actress Angela Lansbury
. There were also times when he would make appearances in Hotel, a TV series produced by ABC and starred Anne Baxter
as the lead. If you are a fan of either leading actress, you will find their respective collectibles displayed on the site.
