The breathtaking movie, Cool Hand Luke played by Paul Newman is a movie full of hope, courage, strength and the exhaustion of all efforts to make a life outside prison. Despite of being stubborn with the rules in front of him, he still has the sympathy of his co-prisoners for being determined. It’s all about a story of a brave man who comes and goes from the prison cell as his life. Luke was caught for cutting the heads off parking meters while drunk. He was brought to prison but refused to follow the system and all of the orders inside. He’s always been beaten after returning from his escapes but nothing stops his determination from doing it.

The film was directed by Stuart Rosenberg and produced by Gordon Carroll. It has been first released on November 1, 1967 by Warner Bros. It is written by Frank Pierson and Donn Pearce with the cinematography by Conrad Hall. Together with Newman, it is being starred also by George Kennedy (Dragline), J.D. George Kennedy won as the Best Actor in a Supporting Role during the Academy Awards. Paul Newman was nominated for the Best Actor category in a Leading role. Other nominations are for the Best Music, Original Music Score and Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium. It has also been selected by the Library Congress for preservation in the National Film Registry for its cultural and historical significance last 2005.
