Through her mother’s connections, her first gig at age 18 was a commercial for Tickle deodorant.  After several small roles, Ryan hit it big in When Harry Met Sally starring along side Billy Crystal in 1989.  She was nominated for a Golden Globe for best actress.  After a few more less successful roles, Ryan’s performance in Sleepless In Seattle with Tom Hanks in 1993 made waves in Hollywood and was again nominated for a Golden Globe award for best actress.  She later starred with Tom Hanks again in You’ve Got Mail.  She, for the third time was nominated for a Golden Globe for best actress, found her niche in romantic comedies.

After dabbling in different genres of film and receiving poor reviews for movies such as Hanging Up and Proof of Life, and being one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood, Meg Ryan returned to her romantic comedy comfort zone pairing with Hugh Jackman in Kate and Leopold.

Megan Ryan’s amazing success in romantic comedies did not limit her to just those roles.  In recent years she has starred in drama films.  She continues to star in comedies and wow the crowds worldwide.
