The story was about the rebellious student named Landon Carter played by West. He would be under the expulsion of the said school. To avoid punishment, he should be participating in activities within the school premises. It included spring musical. That was the time that he met Jamie Sullivan played by Mandy Moore. Jamie was the sole daughter of the church pastor Sullivan. He asked for Jamie’s assistance in memorizing his lines. Jamie agreed with him but on one condition. She told him that Landon must not fall in love with her thereafter. Their friendship bloomed as they get to know each other. However, Jamie felt mad at her when Landon denied her in front of all of his friends. He then turned to asking forgiveness with Jamie. After that, they had their performance in school. As he fell in love with Jamie, Jamie still refused him. It was because of the fact that Jamie was suffering from her worst condition. She died in the end of the story. Landon pursued in going to medical school.
