He wrote and directed another movie which stars old friend Ben Affleck and Liv Tyler in the 2004 movie “Jersey Girl”, in 2006 he wrote the screenplay for “Clerks II” which was submitted to the Cannes Film Festival and got an 8 minute standing ovation. In 2007 Kevin Smith got an offer to play a part with his idol Bruce Willis in the movie “Live Free or Die Hard” and also directed the pilot show of comedy series Reaper and according to reviews has garnered high praises in its reviews.

In 2010, Kevin Smith has been offered to direct the film “Cop Out” with writer Mark and Rob Cullen. Kevin accepted the offer and hired Bruce Willis for the film. He has also had a guest appearance in the Late show with David Letterman and the Jay Leno Show.
