One of his finest work as an actor was in the 1978 drama film “Coming Home” where he first received his Academy Awards Best Actor trophy, together with Jane Fonda who also grabbed the Best Actress category. Other than “Coming Home”, Voight was first seen with his remarkable performance in the 1969’s Best Picture “Midnight Cowboy” where he earned his first Academy Awards nomination for Best Actor.
