John studied in the State University of New York at New Paltz with a major in drama diploma and finished his MFA at the Yale School of Drama. John is a successful family man who with the help of his actress wife Katherine Borowitz had a strong family relationship with their two children, Amadeo who was born on 1990 and Diego who was born on 2000.

 

John became prominent in the movie industry for his roles in the films Barton Fink in 1991, Quiz Show in 1994, The Big Lebowski in 1998, and O Brother, Where Art Thou? in 2000. His latest successful film involvement was in 2007 in the Transformers in which he was joined by rising young stars such as Shia LaBeouf as Sam Witwicky who is a young inheritor of an Arctic explorer who holds the big secret and perhaps the last hope of mankind. Another character in the film was Mikaela Banes acted by Megan fox who is a classmate and love interest of Sam. Josh Duhamel was also involved in the film as Captain William Lennox who helps Sam and Mikaela together with Optimus Prime and the Autobots fight Megatron and the Decepticons to save the human race.
