When he was nine years old, he moved from Haiti to the United States with his family. Wyclef Jean grew up in the US and became famous for being part of the hip hop group the Fugees. One of the members of this group was also a well known artist, songwriter and producer just like him. It was Lauryn Hill. Wyclef Jean, Lauryn Hill along with the other members of the group released a version of Killing Me Softly which ranked high in the music charts. They were well known for that cover as well as their other hit singles like Ready or Not, Fu Gee La and their version of No Woman, No Cry featuring Stephen Marley, son of Bob Marley.
