About Ian Bannen Memorabilia & Collectibles
A Scottish actor who was best known for his occasional leading man in various films, Ian Bannen was born on June 29, 1928 in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire. He attended St. Aloysius; College, Glasgow and moved to Ratcliffe College where he completed his college life. After graduation, he then worked in the British Army.
After several years of serving in public security, he then decided to enter the world of showbiz. His first appearance was in the 1947 “Dublin” stage production of the popular theatrical play “Armlet of Jade”. After the success, he was chosen to play the main role in both plays of Shakespeare and Eugene O’Neill. In addition to that, he was also one of the members of the Royal Shakespeare Company.
