Australian film and television actor Heath Ledger was gifted with great acting and superb looks. Heath Ledger was born on April 4, 1979 in Perth, Western Australia and was the son of a French teacher and a race car driver. His family established the Ledger Engineering Foundry in Australia. He was a great chess player where he won the Junior Chess Championship in Western Australia at the incredible age of 10 years old. Heath would often play at the Washington Square Park in his adult years. Because of his love for Chess, he planned to perform and direct the movie “The Queen’s Gambit” which was written by Walter Tevis but his plan did not materialize because of his tragic death. The movie would have been his first directorial job. Heath Ledger has been linked to several beautiful women such as Heather Graham, Naomi Watts and Michelle Williams. Later on, he was linked with Helena Christensen, Gemma Ward and Mary Kate Olsen after his breakup with Michelle Williams.

Heath started his career in Australian television and movies and later on moved to the United States for better acting exposure. He was starred in one of the Australia’s successful shows, “Home and Away” and then later on had his first feature film debut in Blackrock. He then starred in the movie “10 Things I Hate About You”. Heath Ledger also starred in several popular films such as “The Patriot” together with Mel Gibson, “Monster’s Ball”, “A Knight’s Tale”, “The Order”, “Casanova” and “The Brothers Grimm”. His role in the movie “Brokeback Mountain” has earned him several awards for Best actor and cemented himself as one of the promising actors in this generation. His best performance yet was his role in the movie “The Dark Knight” as Joker which is one of the biggest movies of all time. The movie earned around $180 million. Unfortunately, because of his untimely death in January of 2008, he was not able to see his greatest work and achievement. For playing the role of Joker, he had won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor and several other awards from different film critic organizations across the United States.
