He was born on May 6, 1961 in Lexington, Kentucky by Nina Bruce and Nick Clooney. His mom was a beauty queen in their place and his father was a newscaster and show host including in the American Movie Classics. Aside from his father, he is also surrounded with close relatives that are in the show business like cousins Miguel and Rafael whose mom is a singer and whose dad is also an actor. Although he chose to be as a professional player in baseball as his first choice as a career, he was invited by his cousin Miguel to appear in few scenes in a movie after he failed in the try-out for the Cincinnati Reds. The starting point of his acting career was with his movie with Charlie Sheen which was never released but with that film, the producer was already struck of his acting capability that indeed gave him opportunities to show himself as an actor.

Clooney became popular in his appearance of the TV drama series ER as a doctor. Among his popular movies are From Dusk Till Dawn, Batman and Robin, The Perfect Storm, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Ocean’s Eleven and Syriana. He directed Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Good Night and Good Luck, which he likewise starred and produced, Unscripted and Leatherheads.
