Edward Robinson’s real name is Emanuel Goldenberg, which is why his complete screen name includes a G as middle initial. Born on the 12th of December 1893, Robinson is one of the few American actors of Romanian and Jewish descent. He was only nine years old when his whole family migrated to New York City. He was already in his college years when he developed an interest in acting, one that eventually helped him earn a scholarship in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
