Diplomatic actress Doris Day has an original name Doris Mary Ann Kappelhoff who was born on April 3, 1922 in Cincinnati, Ohio. At her young age, her parents knew that Day has a talent in dancing. This led her to take dance lessons and afterwards create a dance duo with her friend Jerry Doherty. However, her leg was damaged from car accident that ended her dreams to be a professional dancer. After recovering, she tried to take singing lessons which gave her another hope for another career. She made a first song entitled “Day After Day” where her name was taken. From this singing career, she worked with different band leaders like Les Brown and Bob Crosby. While working with other popular band vocalists, she travelled throughout the places of USA. She was also best known as a radio performer as well as announcer. One of her debut album was “My Dreams Are Getting Better All the Time” that brought her big opportunity to star in films. She also sung the “Embraceable You” which she impressed his friend, Styne. From this song, she also recorded a song of “It’s Magic”. Day also tried to appear in different movies like “Young Heart” in 1954, along with Frank Sinatra.
