Aerosmith is one of the most popular bands around the world and they have been idolized worldwide especially to the younger generation of live bands. They go for hard rock music but also made a combination of pop music, heavy metal, glam and R&B. The band was formed and came to its existence in 1970 by Steven Tyler who is the lead singer of the group, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer and Ray Tabano. Aerosmith released an album every year since they started in Columbia until 1979 except for the year 1978. Their popularity and their good music was proven to be non-insignificant because all of those albums reached multi Platinum Awards except for the Night in the Ruts in 1979 that only got one Platinum.  Joe Perry left in 1979 and Brad Whitford in 1981 because of uncontrollable internal conflicts between the members of the group which was reported to be rooted from drug addiction. Jimmy Crespo and Rick Dufay took their respective places. It was during those years (1980 ‘till 1984) that the group released just one album titled as Rock in a Hard Place that didn’t get a Platinum for the first time, though it hit gold.  Perry and Whitford made it again with the group in 1984 and within the same year, the group signed with Geffen Records where they had five albums. All of which reached platinum except for its first album with the new Company in 1985 that only got gold. The group signed again with Columbia Records for a $30 million contract.

Aerosmith have proven to its worth. They were honored in 2001 with a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. They had four wins in Grammy Awards and got ten awards from the MTV Video Music Awards.
